Image Mapping.
Would you like the have people click on a certain part of your banner rather than have them click on a text link? Using this tutorial, you'll learn how to make image maps in Adobe ImageReady CS.

We'll use this horrible enter sign intended for the first layout of my Dakota Fanning fansite (that closed before it even opened).

1. On the toolbar with all the icons and whatnot, click on an icon that has a hand in front of a rectangle, circle, or polygon. That's the image map tool. For this particular image, we only need to use the rectangular image mapping tool.

2. Magnify your image for precision, and click and drag the tool across what you want to be an image map.

3. Go to Window >> Image Map.

4. A window should open up with a text area for the URL, the target of the link, etc. You can fill everything in as you desire.

5. Now, you need to get the HTML code. To do this, go to File >> Preview In >> iexplore, or whichever browser you use.

6. A new window in Internet Explorer should appear, with your image and the code underneath. You can now copy and paste that code into your HTML document or Notepad document, and voila! Image mapping made easy.
